What encryption format is used?
AES-256-GCM with a key derived using PBKDF2-SHA-256, 250,000 iterations and a random salt. Each run uses a new 12-byte IV. Keep the complete JSON envelope containing version, salt, IV and ciphertext.
Can it decrypt other AES or DES formats?
Only this tool’s JSON format is supported, not DES or arbitrary AES formats. Passwords are never uploaded or saved. Lost passwords cannot be recovered; keep independent backups of important data.
